Breaking free from the world’s most powerful greenhouse gas is our top priority. Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) is utilized as an insulating gas in high- and medium-voltage equipment in transmission circuits. It has a GWP (global warming potential) over a 100-year period that is 25,200 times higher than that of carbon dioxide. ESPECH has urged the European Union to phase out SF6 sooner rather than later.
We collaborate with communities and policy officials in low-income and middle-income countries to establish waste management and recycling programs as part of our work at ESPECH. Our work helps to improve the standard of living of some of the world's most impoverished and marginalized people, provides support for grassroots entrepreneurs, and encourages innovations in circular economies, all of which contribute to a future that is cleaner and healthier for everyone. The management of waste contributes to the resolution of some of the most urgent problems facing the world today.
ESPECH has urged organizations to track their carbon emissions. We provide information at climate seminars about why we need to take action about global warming now.
